Srinagar, September 20, 2025: The Railways today launched a special train service from Budgam to Katra, providing a convenient travel facility for passengers of Jammu and Kashmir.
Officials said the new Budgam–Katra train will greatly benefit devotees visiting the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine, while also enhancing connectivity between Kashmir and Jammu regions. The service is aimed at ensuring comfortable, safe, and affordable travel for passengers, reducing dependency on road transport.
Passengers expressed happiness over the introduction of this special train, calling it a major relief for those who frequently travel to Katra for pilgrimage and tourism. Railway authorities added that more such initiatives will be introduced to strengthen the railway network in J&K.
