Social Welfare Department Shopian organises a programme for Sr Citizens | Shares Schemes The Social Welfare Department Shopian organised a programme in Wachi, Shopian in Jammu & Kashmir. They apprised the Shopian residents about the various welfare schemes of the government intended for the seniors, ladies, the youth and children. The seniors, widows, etc get Rs 1000 per month which can be of their help. The poor children who are meritorious are provided scholarships. Girls from poor families are provided assistance of Rs 50,000 at the time of marriage. The elders participated in the games programme and enjoyed it. The residents of Wachi, Shopian said that everyone is benefitting from the schemes of the government.
