RAMBAN, OCTOBER 11: A Special Camp for assessment of assistive devices for Divyangjans (Specially Abled Persons) was held today at Ramban.
Deputy Commissioner, Mussarat Islam visited the assessment camp organized by the SWD in collaboration with ALIMCO to cater to the needs of the Specially Abled persons who are in need of aid devices.
Municipal Council President Sunita Sumbria, Councillor Khalid Wani and several other officials were present on the occasion.
Applauding the efforts of the Social Welfare Department and ALIMCO, the DC invited the needy persons to take the benefit of the scheme.
Briefing about the camps, DSWO Rahul Gupta stated that a total of 05 camps have been organized covering the entire District Ramban right from Batote to Banihal to ensure 100% saturation of prosthetic aid distribution.
He said that the purpose of assessment camps is to assess the need of the PwDs and provide the assistive devices to them as per their requirement.
He also stated that all the camps are being personally monitored by the Deputy Commissioner and concerted efforts are being put in to extend benefits of the schemes to all persons with special needs.
The event also involved local PRIs and councilors who applauded the efforts of the Social Welfare Department in ensuring 100% saturation in prosthetic aid.
