Srinagar, November 30,2025 – Early snowfall across Jammu & Kashmir is set to give a significant boost to winter tourism, according to former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah. Sharing his views, he noted that tourism in 2025 has been adversely impacted, but the timely onset of snow is likely to revive travel activity and strengthen the upcoming winter season.
CM Omar stated that the early snow has generated optimism among stakeholders in the tourism sector, especially in popular destinations such as Gulmarg, Pahalgam, Sonamarg, and Srinagar. Hoteliers, tour operators, and local businesses expect a renewed flow of visitors as temperatures drop and winter activities gain momentum.
The administration and tourism authorities are also preparing to accommodate the anticipated rise in tourist arrivals. Early snowfall typically enhances attractions such as skiing, snowboarding, and other adventure sports, which are key draws for winter tourism in Jammu & Kashmir.
With the season shaping up early this year, stakeholders hope the region will witness strong recovery and improved economic activity during the crucial winter months.
