Srinagar, November 22,2025 – The Srinagar Airport is set to witness smoother operations with the recent upgrade of its Instrument Landing System , ensuring that flights to and from Srinagar remain largely unaffected during adverse weather conditions. The enhanced ILS at Sgr Airport is expected to significantly reduce flight cancellations and delays, benefiting both tourists and business travellers visiting Jammu & Kashmir.
Officials said the modernisation of the airport navigation system aligns with ongoing efforts to improve aviation infrastructure in J&K and strengthen the region’s connectivity and tourism sector. With winter approaching, when snowfall and low visibility often disrupt air travel, the upgraded ILS technology will allow pilots to safely land, keeping air traffic operations seamless.
This move underscores the commitment to boost tourism, trade, and regional connectivity in Jammu & Kashmir, enhancing the overall travel experience for passengers and supporting the growth of Srinagar as a major tourist destination.
