Small Town, Big Dream: J&K Bandipora’s Madeeha Shines in Women’s Cricket I am Madeeha, a cricket player from small town Bandipora in Jammu & Kashmir. It is a male dominated sport. The upcoming nationals is going to be amazing. We have put in a lot of dedication and hard work, said Madeeha. We used to come to the stadium at five in the morning and practice till eight and go to school by nine. Everyone used to ask what is your goal in life. But with my selection their mouths have been shut. My parents have supported me a lot in every field. They have a positive mindset and trust me a lot. I am moving forward with that trust, added Madeeha. We come here to practice in the morning and afternoon. Our Indian Women’s team won the Cricket World Cup. Women’s cricket is growing day by day, now girls are interested in sports. The more you play and go out, the better you will be for the future and for your country, said another woman player in Jammu & Kashmir.
