Jammu,July 23,2026- The Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra has been temporarily suspended due to continuous rainfall and adverse weather conditions along the pilgrimage route, officials said. As a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of devotees, the daily convoy of pilgrims from Bhagwati Nagar Yatri Niwas in Jammu has also been halted until weather conditions improve.
Despite the temporary suspension, the atmosphere at the Bhagwati Nagar base camp remains calm and optimistic. Thousands of pilgrims are patiently waiting for the Yatra to resume, expressing confidence in the authorities and appreciating the comprehensive arrangements made for their stay.
Pilgrims at the base camp praised the administration for providing comfortable accommodation, clean sanitation facilities, quality food, drinking water, medical assistance, and robust security arrangements. Many devotees said they are prepared to wait as long as necessary, emphasizing that safety remains the top priority.
Authorities are continuously monitoring the weather and reviewing the condition of the Yatra tracks. The pilgrimage will resume only after the routes are declared safe for travel.
Officials have advised pilgrims to remain at designated camps and follow all official advisories. They have also assured devotees that timely updates regarding the resumption of the Yatra will be communicated through official channels.
The Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra, one of India’s most revered annual pilgrimages, has witnessed an overwhelming response this year, with lakhs of devotees visiting the holy cave shrine. The temporary suspension highlights the administration’s commitment to ensuring a safe, secure, and well-managed pilgrimage amid challenging weather conditions.
