Shopian, June 10, 2025: In a significant step toward inclusive development, Shopian district is launching the Dharti Aaba Janbhagidari Abhiyan, a transformative campaign under the Janjatiya Gaurav Varsh initiative. From June 15 to 30, 2025, the tribal villages of Kathohallan (June 15–22) and Pahlipora (June 23–30) in Block Keller will host awareness and benefit saturation camps to deliver key government schemes to tribal communities.
Deputy Commissioner Shishir Gupta emphasized the campaign’s mission to achieve last-mile delivery of welfare programs, ensuring no eligible beneficiary is overlooked. “This is a golden opportunity to uplift our tribal brothers and sisters. I urge everyone in Shopian to participate actively and make this initiative a success,” Gupta stated during a district-level briefing.
The Dharti Aaba Janbhagidari Abhiyan focuses on bridging gaps in healthcare, education, livelihood, and social infrastructure through schemes like the Pradhan Mantri Janjati Adivasi Nyaya Maha Abhiyan (PM-JANMAN) and Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan (DAJGUA). Camps will offer on-spot enrollment for programs such as Ujjwala Yojana for LPG connections, PM Jan Dhan Yojana for banking access, and support for tribal entrepreneurship and sustainable agriculture.
The initiative will feature health camps, skill development workshops, and exhibitions showcasing Kashmir’s tribal heritage, including local crafts and products. It aligns with the Ministry of Tribal Affairs’ vision to empower tribal India by addressing systemic disparities and fostering economic self-reliance.
As part of Jammu and Kashmir’s broader efforts, Shopian’s campaign is a model for tribal development, contributing to the national goal of transforming 63,843 tribal villages. With Kathohallan and Pahlipora as focal points, the district is poised to set a benchmark for inclusive growth.
Join the movement to empower Shopian’s tribal communities and witness how the Dharti Aaba initiative is reshaping lives in Kashmir’s heartlands.
