SED holds orientation program on Vidyanjali, TOPS initiatives at Baramulla

BARAMULLA, JUNE 25: In an initiative to streamline the resource management in schools enriching the educational experiences of students, the department of school education Baramulla today conducted a day long orientation program for the district and block officials on Vidyanjali and TOPS schemes.
Economic Advisor to Department of School Education, Union Ministry of Education A. Srija chaired the event.
Among others Principal Secretary, School Education, Alok Kumar, Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Minga Sherpa, Director School Education Kashmir, Dr. Tasaduq Hussain Mir, Project Director Samagra Shiksha Rakesh Magotra, Chief Education Officer, Baramulla besides other officers and officials from all blocks of education department participated in the program.
The participants received comprehensive training on Vidyanjali online portal, initiated by the Ministry of Education. This platform acts as a central hub where volunteers, schools and organizations can come together to collaborate and contribute towards strengthening the education sector.
The training covered a range of activities on the portal including volunteer registration, school enrolment, activity posting, utilizing the resource library besides feedback and evaluation mechanisms with an aim to promote and enhance community engagement in education landscape.
Meanwhile, an orientation session was held on promoting sports through the government scheme TOPS (Target Olympic Podium Scheme). The initiative plays a crucial role in nurturing India’s sporting talent, fostering a culture of excellence elevating the country’s presence on global sports stage.
During the session, the participants gained valuable insights into various components of TOPS initiative, including the ways to identify athletes, personalized support mechanisms, high performance training protocols, international exposure opportunities and financial assistance provisions.
