UDHAMPUR, SEPTEMBER 11: The second randomization of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) for the General Election to the Legislative Assembly 2024 in Rajouri District was successfully conducted today at Dak Bungalow, Rajouri.
The process was carried out in the presence of Mani Ram Sharma, General Observer for Nowshera & Kalakote-Sunderbani Assembly Constituency; Tikam Chand Bohra, General Observer for Thanamandi Assembly Constituency, and Anurag Jayanti, General Observer for Rajouri & Budhal Assembly Constituencies.
Representatives from all major political parties were in attendance to witness the transparent procedure, ensuring fair and free elections.
The second randomization of EVMs is an essential step in the election process, ensuring that the machines are distributed fairly across polling stations. This stage was completed smoothly, with a strong emphasis on adherence to the guidelines set by the Election Commission of India. During this process, the allocated EVMs were finalized for each polling station within the five Assembly constituencies of Rajouri District.
Following the completion of the EVM randomization, the General Observers proceeded to the VC Room at the Deputy Commissioner’s office, where the second randomization of polling personnel was conducted. The personnel selected during the first randomization were assigned to different Assembly Constituencies. This second randomization involved a computerized process that ensures polling officials are randomly placed, preventing any bias and reinforcing the credibility of the electoral process.
As part of the election preparations, the General Observers also inspected the functioning of the Control Room and the Media Certification and Monitoring Committee (MCMC) cell. The MCMC cell is tasked with monitoring media-related activities, ensuring compliance with election guidelines, and preventing the spread of misinformation during the election period.
Returning Officers (ROs) from all five constituencies – Nowshera, Kalakote-Sunderbani, Thanamandi, Rajouri, and Budhal, DIO NIC, Muzaffar Mir were also present throughout the proceedings.
