Kulgam, November 20, 2025 – The SDRF/HG Unit Kulgam organized a comprehensive disaster awareness programme at the House of Wisdom Educational Institute, Kani Pora Kulgam, aiming to equip students and staff with essential life-saving skills and preparedness techniques. The interactive session drew active participation from nearly 300 students and faculty members, reflecting a strong interest in disaster readiness among young learners.
During the programme, the SDRF team delivered detailed lectures on disaster mitigation, recent disasters witnessed in Jammu & Kashmir, and the importance of community-level preparedness. A live CPR demonstration was conducted as part of first-aid training, enabling students to understand emergency response techniques. The team also briefed attendees on earthquake safety measures, fire precautions, and flood preventive strategies, ensuring a well-rounded understanding of multiple hazard scenarios.
The Chairman of the institute extended heartfelt appreciation to the SDRF Unit Kulgam for conducting the informative and practical session, acknowledging the significance of such initiatives in strengthening community safety and resilience.
