Doda, Sept 15: After remaining shut for nearly two weeks due to the recent flash floods in Bhaderwah, schools in Doda district, Jammu and Kashmir, reopened on Monday, bringing relief to students and parents.
The devastating floods had caused widespread damage to infrastructure, roads, and public property, forcing the closure of educational institutions for 13 days. With restoration work in progress and safety measures in place, authorities allowed schools to resume functioning.
Teachers, students, and parents expressed cautious optimism, noting that while normalcy is gradually returning, there is still a need for sustained rehabilitation efforts in flood-affected areas. Officials assured that the District Administration Doda is closely monitoring the situation and extending support to ensure uninterrupted education.
The reopening of schools has been hailed as a positive step toward restoring normal life in Bhaderwah, which witnessed unprecedented challenges due to the natural disaster.
