Kashmir Ahead

Say yes to life, no to drugs in J&K

Srinagar, March 13,2026- Emphasising the importance of a healthy and productive society, a renewed call has been made for people, especially the youth, to choose a drug-free lifestyle and work collectively towards building a stronger and healthier Jammu and Kashmir.

The message highlights that every individual’s dreams and aspirations deserve a chance to flourish. Choosing a life free from drugs is not merely about rejecting harmful substances, but about embracing good health, education, career opportunities, and a brighter future.

Officials and social activists have reiterated that substance abuse continues to pose a serious challenge for many families in the region. They stressed that awareness, community support, and proactive steps by society are essential to protect young people from falling into the trap of addiction.

Experts say that encouraging youth to pursue education, sports, and skill development can play a key role in steering them away from drugs. Parents, teachers, and community leaders also have an important role in guiding young minds and promoting a culture of responsibility and healthy living.

Authorities have also been running awareness campaigns, counselling programmes, and rehabilitation initiatives to address the issue of drug abuse and help affected individuals return to normal life.

Citizens have been urged to stand united against the menace of drugs and support efforts aimed at building a drug-free and prosperous Jammu and Kashmir, where young people can realise their dreams and contribute positively to society.
