Kashmir , 27 September 2025- Srinagar is set to host the “Save Wular Run with Borderman” Marathon 2.0 on October 12, 2025, an initiative by the BSF Kashmir Frontier aimed at promoting environmental awareness, fitness, and sportsmanship.
The marathon will feature three race formats, encouraging participation from professional athletes, fitness enthusiasts, and the general public alike. With free registration for all categories, the event also offers participants a unique opportunity to get sponsored under the Khelo India scheme, further boosting grassroots sports talent.
Organisers highlighted that the marathon seeks to raise awareness about the importance of protecting Wular Lake, one of Asia’s largest freshwater lakes and an ecological treasure of Kashmir. By combining the spirit of sports with environmental conservation, the event underscores the need for collective responsibility in safeguarding natural resources.
The BSF Kashmir Frontier has invited residents, youth, and sports lovers to come forward and join the marathon, making it a celebration of health, environment, and unity.
