Jammu, November 25: Minister for Youth Services and Sports, Satish Sharma, extended his congratulations to the Jammu and Kashmir Senior Men’s Football Team upon their return to Jammu after securing a spot in the final round of the 78th Santosh Trophy. The team’s remarkable performance, including historic victories over strong opponents like Punjab and Himachal Pradesh, was celebrated during an interaction with the Minister.
Commending the team’s skill, teamwork, and dedication, Sharma expressed pride in their achievement, noting, “It’s truly inspiring to see our athletes bring glory to Jammu and Kashmir by defeating top teams. This victory highlights the incredible sporting talent in our region.”
The Minister assured the players that the government is fully committed to supporting their preparation for the final rounds, offering world-class training facilities, technical expertise, and all necessary resources. He expressed confidence in the team’s potential to continue their strong performance at the national level.

The felicitation ceremony was attended by Director General, Youth Services and Sports, Rajinder Singh Tara, Secretary of the J&K Sports Council, Nuzhat Gul, along with other key officials. The Minister praised the J&K Sports Council for its vital role in organizing training camps and supporting the team, emphasizing their commitment to advancing sports in the region.
The event concluded with a reaffirmed commitment from the administration to enhance sports infrastructure and encourage young talent across Jammu and Kashmir, with the aim of achieving continued excellence in both national and international competitions.
