Jammu, July 3,2026- The Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board (SASB) has issued an important advisory for pilgrims undertaking the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2026, urging devotees to complete advance registration before travelling to Jammu and Kashmir.
As per directions of the Hon’ble Supreme Court, a daily cap on the number of pilgrims allowed on the Yatra route has been fixed to ensure the safety of devotees and the smooth conduct of the annual pilgrimage. Authorities have made it clear that adherence to this daily limit is mandatory.
To facilitate pilgrims, advance registration was opened well before the commencement of the Yatra through designated bank branches across the country and online registration portals. Officials stated that the majority of devotees have already completed their registration using these facilities.
The administration has emphasised that Tatkal (on-the-spot) registration is available only in very limited numbers. Therefore, pilgrims are advised not to travel to Jammu and Kashmir without a valid advance registration, as thousands of unregistered pilgrims cannot be accommodated under the Tatkal quota.
Authorities have also observed that several registered pilgrims are reaching Jammu and Kashmir before their allotted travel date. Officials clarified that no pilgrim will be allowed to proceed before the date mentioned on their registration slip, and all devotees must travel strictly according to their assigned schedule.
Unregistered pilgrims who have already arrived in Jammu and Kashmir have been requested to remain patient and wait for their turn. The administration assured that every registered pilgrim will be given an opportunity to undertake the sacred Yatra, subject to the prescribed procedures and the daily capacity limit.
The Shrine Board and the administration have appealed to all devotees to cooperate, maintain discipline, and follow official guidelines to ensure a safe, orderly, and successful Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2026.
