Sarpanch Heerpora contributes in the development of his village in Shopian

Sarpanch of Heerpora Shopian in Jammu & Kashmir, Aijaz Ahmad says, previously we had to go to the MLAs if a contractor was given work and first he had to give a fee of Rs 20,000. Since the LG government is in power, a lot of development work is going in our villages all around Kashmir. We are grateful to the LG, Jammu & Kashmir, Shri Manoj Sinha for the construction of roads flooring and tile work. Drains and bridges have been repaired and built at Heerpora village in Shopian, Jammu & Kashmir. Imtiaz Ahmad Bhat, a local resident says, here development work compared to other villages is better. In the Shopian block there are 12 hulqa. Among the 12 hulqa, Heerpora is showing the best development work due to the efforts of the Sarpanch Heerpora. Manzoor Ahmad Wani, another local resident of Heerpora says, we are grateful to the government for this developmental work. Under the PMAY scheme this year around 15 people have benefitted. Earlier, only one or two used to get the benefits. So much development has happened which we did not see in the past 70 years, said the Sarpanch Heerpora.
