Srinagar, October18,2025: SARAS Mela 2025 ended on a high note with Kerala products and Kishtwar and UP stalls selling at the peak. Organised jointly by the J&K Rural Development & Panchayati Raj (RDDPR) Department, the fair was a chance to bring into the limelight the increasing role of Self-Help Groups (SHGs) in empowerment of entrepreneurship and rural livelihood.
Mohammad Aijaz Asad, RDDPR J&K Secretary, commented, “All Kerala products sold out, Kishtwar & UP stalls clocked all time highest sales, proof that SARAS Mela is not only a fair, it’s a social revolution.” The Mela was ended with an award ceremony to spot the top-performing SHGs from all over India, honoring their success in innovation, production, and empowering the community.
The festival broke markets, showcased indigenous products, and strengthened socio-economic development, turning SARAS Mela into an epicenter of rural entrepreneurship in India
