SAMBA, JUNE 04: The Child Welfare Committee Samba and District Child Protection Unit conducted an anti- child begging drive here today at Bari Brahmana.
While no children were found begging, six children were found working as rag pickers in different areas of Bari Brahmana.
The deputed team brought these children in a vehicle provided by the District Child Protection Officer Samba. The team informed the Bari Brahmana Police Station to contact their parents and send them to the Child Welfare Committee Office.
Upon arrival, the children were given proper food and they were engaged in fun activities by the staff of DCPU. The three children are pursuing education in the Private School at Bari Brahmana.
The CWC warned the parents, counselled them, and had them sign an undertaking to provide proper care to their children.
The CWC Samba also collected their Aadhar cards and instructed the parents to appear before CWC again on 11.06.2024 for further inquiry.
