Sakeena Itoo Visits Fire-Affected Families in Kulgam, Offers Immediate Relief and Condolences to Accident Victims

Kulgam, December 13: Sakeena Itoo, Minister for Health and Medical Education, Social Welfare, and Education, today visited the fire-affected families in Chaki Nagam, Kulgam, extending her heartfelt solidarity and support during their time of distress.

During the visit, the Minister met with the affected families and assured them of the Government’s full support. She urged the district administration to expedite relief operations, emphasizing the need for immediate provision of temporary shelters, food, and essential supplies, particularly given the harsh winter conditions.

Minister Itoo also directed the Rural Development Department (RDD) to assist in rebuilding the homes of the affected families. She encouraged the local community to adopt precautionary measures to prevent such devastating incidents in the future.

As part of the immediate relief, the Minister handed over cheques totaling Rs. 3.66 lakh from the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) to the affected families. The Deputy Commissioner of Kulgam, Athar Aamir Khan, along with other senior district officials, including the Additional SP, SDM, and Tehsildar, were present during the visit.

Later, Sakeena Itoo visited Gopalpora in Kulgam to offer condolences to the families of Mukhtar Ahmad and Riyaz Ahmad, who tragically lost their lives in a road accident. The Minister expressed her deepest sympathy, praying for the departed souls and assuring the grieving families of all possible support from the Government.
