Sakeena Itoo conducts surprise inspection at JLNM hospital, reviews medical facilities

SRINAGAR, JANUARY 03 – Sakeena Itoo, the Minister for Health and Medical Education, Social Welfare, and Education, conducted a thorough inspection of Jawaharlal Lal Nehru Memorial Hospital in Rainawari. The Minister reviewed the hospital’s medical facilities and the overall healthcare services available to local residents.

Accompanied by MLA Zadibal, Tanvir Sadiq, and senior health department officials, Minister Itoo visited key areas of the hospital, including the OPD, IPD, operation theatre, blood bank, and other essential units.

During the inspection, the Minister stressed the importance of cleanliness and hygiene within the hospital wards, urging the administration to maintain a safe and comfortable environment for patients. “Proper heating arrangements should be ensured around the clock, especially given the severe winter conditions,” she directed hospital officials.

She also highlighted the significance of timely maintenance of medical equipment to enhance the quality of healthcare services. Furthermore, the Minister inspected the medical supplies section, evaluating the inventory and emphasising the need for maintaining an adequate stock of medicines and equipment during the winter months.

Assuring the hospital administration of the government’s continued support, Minister Itoo encouraged the staff to work with dedication to ensure the hospital meets the healthcare needs of the population. The Minister also interacted with patients and their attendants, gathering feedback on the quality of healthcare services provided at the hospital.
