Doda, February 12,2026-In a significant step towards strengthening child welfare and social security mechanisms in the district, DDC Chairperson Sh. Dhananter Singh and Deputy Commissioner Doda, Sh. Harvinder Singh, IAS, distributed financial assistance amounting to Rs 96 lakh among 328 beneficiaries under the National Incentive Scheme (NIC) sponsorship component of Mission Vatsalya.
The financial assistance aims to provide crucial support to children in need of care and protection, ensuring their access to education, healthcare, nutrition, and overall well-being. The initiative forms part of the Government’s ongoing efforts to safeguard the rights and future of vulnerable children through structured welfare schemes.
Addressing the beneficiaries and officials during the distribution programme, DDC Chairperson Dhananter Singh highlighted the administration’s commitment to inclusive development and child-centric welfare policies. He emphasized that Mission Vatsalya plays a vital role in providing a protective environment and social security net for children from disadvantaged backgrounds.
Deputy Commissioner Harvinder Singh, IAS, reiterated that the district administration is focused on the effective implementation of welfare schemes to ensure that benefits reach the deserving sections of society in a transparent and timely manner. He stated that financial assistance under the NIC sponsorship will significantly help families meet essential needs related to education and child development.
Officials informed that the assistance has been disbursed after proper verification to ensure that genuine beneficiaries receive timely support. The programme also witnessed the presence of district officers and representatives from the Social Welfare Department.
Mission Vatsalya is a centrally sponsored scheme aimed at promoting child protection services and strengthening institutional and non-institutional care mechanisms across the country. The distribution of Rs 96 lakh among 328 beneficiaries marks another milestone in Doda district’s efforts to enhance child welfare and ensure social security for vulnerable sections.
