Remembering Gandhi: Pulwama’s Message to the World- Resolve Conflicts through Peace & Non Violence

A march for peace “Shanti Yatra’ in Pulwama, Jammu & Kashmir was held in commemoration of Mahatma Gandhi’s 154th birth anniversary. The march is in respect with the Gandhian philosophy which proves that we can solve any conflict with truth and peace. We cannot solve it with fighting, said school children in Pulwama. Not only India has benefitted from Gandhi ji’s philosophy but the whole world has been inspired from it. I am very happy today that I have been given a chance to speak about Mahatma Gandhi ji, said a female student. The Father of Our Nation lived his life for India. He was instrumental in forcing the British out of this country for us. So we must also do something for our country, said the school children getting inspired. The message of peace should be given in the society, said officials of the Department of School Education, Jammu & Kashmir. If there is peace, everything is in our life, our survival is linked with peace. Students and teachers together are introducing this message as a slogan. Teachers said how the relevance of Gandhi’s philosophy is the same as it was at that time. Wherever conflicts and divisions are happening in society today it is a message that we can resolve conflicts through non-violence and peace. Patience, love, truth, non-violence and justice these were the main pillars of Gandhiji’s philosophy on which he worked throughout his life. And these have the same relevance today also in our lives and society.
