Kashmir Ahead

Record Rush at Amarnath Yatra 2026! LG Manoj Sinha Reviews Arrangements at Nunwan Base Camp

The Lieutenant Governor of Jammu & Kashmir, Shri Manoj Sinha visited the Nunwan Base Camp set up at Pahalgam for the Amarnath Yatra 2026 pilgrims. The Amarnath journey began on July 3rd, and I have observed the last four journeys very closely, LG said. There has been a significant increase in the number of pilgrims this time. People are arriving in large numbers even without registering. The Jammu and Kashmir administration and the Shrine Board have jointly made arrangements that are even better than before. Officers and staff from all departments are dedicatedly engaged in serving the travelers and pilgrims. For the last two years, the 100-bed base camp hospital has been working. Many doctors and paramedical staff—both from the Kashmir Division’s Health Department and from outside—come here, and I have been informed that 2,500 patients are visiting daily due to high altitude sickness. LG said he had met a few patients who had issues of low oxygen and the hospital is equipped to take care of these ailments. Arrangements have been improved in every respect; pilgrims are earnestly requested to wait for their turn to ensure a smoother journey, LG said.
