Udhampur, March 12: Deputy Commissioner Minga Sherpa inaugurated the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme under the ED scheme in Udhampur, marking a significant step toward strengthening the district’s power distribution network.
The project aims to improve the reliability and efficiency of electricity supply across the district. As part of the initiative, authorities will install additional transformers, replace damaged cables, and substitute old electricity poles with modern infrastructure to ensure better service delivery.
Officials stated that the implementation of the RDSS-ED scheme will help reduce power losses, enhance system capacity, and provide a more stable electricity supply to residents and businesses in the area.
The initiative is expected to modernize the power distribution system in Udhampur and support the government’s broader efforts to upgrade energy infrastructure and improve public services in the region.
