Jammu, December 7: Javed Ahmad Rana, the Minister for Jal Shakti, Forest, Ecology & Environment, and Tribal Affairs, conducted a comprehensive inspection of the Gujjar and Bakerwal hostels in Jammu. The Minister visited both the Gujjar & Bakerwal Girls Hostel and the Boys Hostel on Wazarat Road to assess the functioning of the facilities and the amenities available to the resident students.
During his visit, Rana evaluated key aspects such as water supply, meal arrangements, classroom conditions, library services, and the recreation hall. He also reviewed the teaching modules and schedules to ensure they align with the educational needs of the students.
Emphasizing the importance of holistic development, the Minister directed that all necessary facilities be provided to the students to foster their academic and personal growth. He specifically instructed Ghulam Rasool, Director of Tribal Affairs, to closely monitor and enhance the functioning of hostels across Jammu and Kashmir.
Interacting with the staff, Rana inquired about the students’ academic performance and encouraged the teachers to offer full support in preparing students for competitive exams. He particularly stressed the importance of improving students’ writing skills at the primary level, noting that strong writing abilities are foundational for academic success and future opportunities.
Rana further highlighted that educational development extends beyond fulfilling basic school requirements. He urged educators to foster critical thinking, creativity, and meaningful engagement among students. To this end, the Minister also directed the Director of Tribal Affairs to organize seminars, debates, and other co-curricular activities to support the students’ all-round development.
Concluding his visit, Rana emphasized the need for teachers to maximize their time and resources for the betterment of the student community, ensuring that each child has the opportunity to thrive both academically and personally.
