Srinagar, May 08, 2025: In a significant boost to India’s border infrastructure, Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh virtually dedicated 50 strategically vital infrastructure projects of the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) to the nation. These projects, valued at Rs 1879 crore, aim to enhance connectivity and strengthen strategic capabilities in border regions. Among these, one road and five bridge projects are located in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir .
Lieutenant Governor of J&K, Shri Manoj Sinha, expressed heartfelt gratitude to Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Hon’ble Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh for the six new infrastructure projects in J&K. He emphasized their socio-economic and strategic importance, stating, “These projects will prove to be the lifeline for the people in the concerned districts and bring positive changes in socio-economic development. They will also provide much-needed connectivity to the armed forces, enhancing their operational activities.”
The projects are expected to transform the region by improving infrastructure, fostering economic growth, and bolstering national security through enhanced border connectivity.
