Jammu, 24 August , 2025: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh visited Government Medical College, Jammu, and met those injured in the recent cloudburst incident at Kishtwar in Jammu and Kashmir.
During his visit, the Defence Minister interacted with the patients and their families, inquiring about their well-being and assuring them of all possible support from the Central Government. He also praised the doctors, nurses, and medical staff of Jammu Medical College for their dedicated service in treating the injured.
Rajnath Singh highlighted that the Government, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is committed to ensuring effective relief and rehabilitation measures for all victims of the Kishtwar cloudburst. He also reviewed ongoing rescue and recovery operations being carried out by the Army, NDRF, SDRF, and J&K Police.
The cloudburst in Kishtwar district caused loss of life and widespread damage, leading to immediate large-scale rescue efforts by multiple agencies. The visit of the Defence Minister reflects the Centre’s seriousness in extending comprehensive assistance to those affected by the disaster.
