Rahul Gandhi meets J&K LG Manoj Sinha to discuss Pahalgam terror attack at Raj Bhavan

SRINAGAR, April 25, 2025 – Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, Shri Rahul Gandhi, accompanied by Congress MP Shri KC Venugopal, Congress MLAs Shri Ghulam Ahmad Mir and Shri Tariq Hameed Karra, and Rajya Sabha MP Dr Syed Naseer Hussain, met Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha at Raj Bhavan today. The high-level meeting focused on the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, which claimed 26 lives, mostly tourists, at Baisaran meadow on April 22, 2025.

The discussions covered various aspects of the heinous attack, including security lapses, the ongoing search for perpetrators, and measures to prevent future incidents. Rahul Gandhi, who arrived in Srinagar earlier today, also visited the Army’s Base Hospital in Badamibagh Cantonment to meet those injured in the attack, reaffirming Congress’s commitment to supporting victims and their families.

The Pahalgam terror attack, one of the deadliest in Jammu and Kashmir since the 2019 Pulwama strike, has sparked widespread outrage. The Opposition, led by Gandhi, has extended full support to the government’s efforts to bring the culprits to justice. During an all-party meeting in New Delhi on April 24, Gandhi condemned the attack and emphasized the need for a united response to terrorism.

Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha briefed the delegation on actions being taken, including intensified security operations and coordination with the Indian Army to dismantle terrorist networks. The meeting also addressed concerns raised by Congress about the absence of security forces at Baisaran, a key issue echoed by other opposition leaders.
