Raghunath bazaar bustles with Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra Pilgrims

Jammu, July 16,2026-Jammu continues to witness a steady influx of pilgrims from across the country as thousands of devotees arrive to undertake the sacred Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2026. The city has transformed into a vibrant hub of spiritual activity, with pilgrims making their way to the Bhagwati Nagar Yatri Niwas before proceeding towards the twin base camps of Baltal and Nunwan (Pahalgam).

One of the busiest places in the city is the historic Raghunath Bazaar, where devotees are purchasing essential items required for the pilgrimage. Shops selling woollen clothing, raincoats, walking sticks, torches, medicines, dry fruits, footwear, backpacks, and other travel essentials have witnessed a significant rise in customers, creating a festive atmosphere in the bustling market.

Local traders have welcomed the surge in pilgrim footfall, describing the annual yatra as a major boost for businesses in Jammu. Hotels, restaurants, transport operators, and retail establishments are also witnessing increased activity as thousands of pilgrims halt in the city before beginning their spiritual journey to the holy cave shrine of Baba Barfani in the South Kashmir Himalayas.

Pilgrims expressed appreciation for the warm hospitality extended by the people of Jammu and the arrangements made by the administration. Many devotees said they were excited to embark on the sacred pilgrimage and praised the city’s welcoming atmosphere, efficient services, and vibrant markets that cater to every requirement of yatris.

The Jammu and Kashmir administration has put in place elaborate arrangements to ensure a smooth and hassle-free experience for pilgrims. Security has been strengthened across the city, while healthcare facilities, transportation services, accommodation, and information centres have been established to facilitate devotees during their stay.

As the annual pilgrimage continues, Jammu remains the gateway to one of India’s most revered religious journeys, with the city’s markets, businesses, and residents playing a vital role in supporting lakhs of pilgrims undertaking the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra.
