Pulwama, March 18, 2025 – The District Pulwama Ball Badminton Championship wrapped up successfully, showcasing the skills of over 110 players at Bajwani, Tral. Held from March 12 to March 13, the two-day event was a vibrant display of young talent, organized by the District Pulwama Ball Badminton Association in collaboration with the J&K Ball Badminton Association and sponsored by the J&K Sports Council.
The championship, hosted at Playfield Ground Bajwani Tral, drew enthusiastic participation from boys and girls across all zones of District Pulwama. Players competed fiercely, adhering to the official rules of the Ball Badminton Federation of India , ensuring a high standard of fair play and competition. The event concluded with great fanfare, with medals, trophies, and mementos awarded to the winners, celebrating their dedication and prowess.
A key highlight of the tournament was the selection of top-performing athletes who will now represent Pulwama at the upcoming J&K UT Level Ball Badminton Championship. This opportunity marks a significant step for these young players to shine on a larger stage and further promote the sport in Jammu and Kashmir.
Mir Mashooq, Incharge of South Kashmir, National People’s Front, attended the closing ceremony as the special guest, pledging full support to the players and encouraging them to pursue their passion for ball badminton. The event also saw the presence of notable figures, including Irshad Ahmad Dar, President of the J&K Floorball Association, and international martial arts player Fazan Ul Fayaz, alongside other dignitaries and national athletes.
Participants expressed their gratitude to the J&K Sports Council and the Ball Badminton Association of J&K for providing a platform to showcase their talent. “This championship has been an incredible experience, and we’re thankful for the support that’s helping us grow as athletes,” said one of the players.
The District Pulwama Ball Badminton Association extended its appreciation to all organizers, officials, coaches, parents, and volunteers who contributed to the event’s success.
