The meeting focused on the key features and objectives of this year’s literary event, which is expected to witness participation from over 300 publishers across India. The festival aims to promote reading culture, regional literature, and linguistic diversity, particularly among the youth and student community.

In addition, the festival will feature unique exhibitions of the Sharda script, and dedicated sessions focusing on the Kashmiri, Dogri, and Gojri languages. Special programs will also be held to promote local dialects and indigenous literary traditions of Jammu and Kashmir.
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha appreciated the initiative and emphasized the importance of such cultural platforms in nurturing young minds, preserving regional heritage, and fostering intellectual growth in the Union Territory.
The Chinar Book Festival continues to evolve as a major cultural and educational event in Jammu and Kashmir, providing a platform for readers, writers, scholars, and publishers to engage in meaningful literary exchange.
