Srinagar, November 20, 2025 – In a nail-biting encounter of the Khyber Cement Srinagar Premier Division Football League 2025-26 Super 8 stage, J&K Police XI edged out Arco FC 2-1 at the TRC Turf Ground, solidifying their position in the race for the championship.The match, played under the floodlights amid cheering crowds, showcased the competitive spirit of local football in Jammu and Kashmir. J&K Police, known for their disciplined defense and sharp counter-attacks, dominated possession early on. Forward Bilal Ahmad broke the deadlock in the 22nd minute with a clinical finish from a well-executed corner kick, sending the Police supporters into raptures.
Arco FC, the corporate-backed side managed by Arco Cement and featuring promising young talents from the valley, responded fiercely in the second half. Midfielder Ishfaq Teli leveled the scores in the 58th minute with a stunning long-range strike that left the Police goalkeeper rooted to the spot. The goal ignited Arco’s push for a winner, but J&K Police’s backline held firm under relentless pressure.
The decisive moment came in the 78th minute when substitute striker Jahangir capitalized on a defensive lapse by Arco, slotting home the winner past a diving custodian.
