Poets Are Protectors of Culture & Values | Affirms J&K LG at Akhil Bhartiya Kavi Sammelan by JKAACL I think that a poet is not only a creative creator but also a protector of our civilisation, our culture, our values, said the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu & Kashmir, Shri Manoj Sinha while attending the Akhil Bhartiya Kavi Sammelan organised by JKAACL to celebrate the 75th Republic Day of India. For centuries, social consciousness in this country has touched its peak, and the life force behind it was poets, artists and writers too. Every generation needs to understand that poets are not mere jugglers playing with rhyming words. A poet works to infuse new life into the society every day by using words. The poet also shows a mirror to the society with the help of words and when needed, the same poet also inspires change in the society, LG said. In true sense, a poet is a revolutionary who nurtures the tradition of the nation and connects all sections of the society. It gathers the scattered forces and despite the difference of languages, it also works to reveal the precious facts of the world with one feeling. And that is why I believe that the poet is actually the soul of the society, LG said. His eye to see the events happening every moment with complete purity as a witness is very important for the balanced development of the society. Poets, writers, litterateurs and artists have a huge moral responsibility to maintain the qualities of the tradition of developed India. I hope that they will use their knowledge and experience to shape the future of this country. And they will also actively participate in the process of nation building, said the Lt Governor, Shri Manoj Sinha in J&K.
