Kashmir , 29 November 2025-LG Manoj Sinha attended the Kavi Sammelan organised by Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd., where he underscored the transformative power of literature in shaping societies and strengthening nations. Addressing an audience of eminent poets and writers, the LG emphasised that literature has historically played a vital role in nation-building, nurturing a sense of national identity, and fostering social cohesion.
LG Sinha urged poets and writers to use their creative expression to fortify the country’s unity and counter narratives aimed at dividing communities. Referring to the sensitive socio-political environment in the Kashmir valley, he highlighted the responsibility of literary figures to confront and neutralize secessionist attempts and efforts to radicalise the youth.
He stated that writers and poets possess the unique ability to influence minds and inspire collective consciousness, making them critical partners in strengthening the social fabric.
The Lt. Governor also stressed the importance of promoting regional literature, calling it a powerful tool for enhancing cultural understanding and harmony. He noted that local languages and literary traditions carry immense potential to build bridges across communities and contribute to national strength.
The event, marked by enthusiastic participation from poets across the country, served as a platform to celebrate India’s literary richness while reaffirming its role in advancing unity and social progress.
