PMGSY Transforms Ganderbal | Wider Roads and Faster Connectivity to Srinagar in Half an Hour This road in Ganderbal, Jammu & Kashmir was earlier very narrow and used to collapse in hilly areas. We are thankful to PMGSY and the J&K department for widening the road. This road now gives us the benefit of shortcut to reach other nearby areas. We can reach Srinagar in half an hour. A lot of development is happening, said Nazeer Ahmed, a resident of Ganderbal. Earlier, nobody bothered about our village. Looks like after 25 years, the road has been macadamized and widening done. Apart from that concrete walls were also created in some places. Around 40-50 villages are going to benefit from the road development. Another resident Khursheed Ahmed said that earlier two vehicles could not travel together. The road was rough and full of mud. It has become easier for us with the macadamisation of road. We are grateful to PMGSY for macadamisation of this road. Irfan Ahmed, Junior Engineer in Ganderbal said quality control happens at three levels, divisional, state and national level and we are not compromising on quality.
