Rajouri, Feburary 28,2026- In a significant push towards grassroots entrepreneurship and self-employment generation, the Central Government’s flagship scheme, Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP), continues to create new avenues for aspiring entrepreneurs in Rajouri district.
Under the PMEGP initiative, the Jammu & Kashmir Bank-supported Rural Self Employment Training Institutes (RSETI) Rajouri has commenced a fresh training batch comprising 35 highly qualified unemployed youth from different parts of the district. The programme aims to equip participants with essential entrepreneurial skills, business management knowledge, and practical training required to establish sustainable self-employment ventures.
Speaking at the inaugural session, Director RSETI Rajouri, Sunil Sharma, emphasized that dedication, punctuality, discipline, and confidence are the key pillars of entrepreneurial success. He urged the trainees to take full advantage of the opportunity provided under PMEGP and work diligently towards building financially viable enterprises.
The training programme focuses on skill development, financial literacy, project report preparation, marketing strategies, and awareness about credit linkage under PMEGP. Officials said that such initiatives are playing a vital role in reducing unemployment and promoting micro-enterprises in rural and semi-urban areas of Rajouri.
PMEGP, implemented by the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), aims to generate sustainable employment opportunities by assisting individuals in setting up micro-enterprises in manufacturing and service sectors. In districts like Rajouri, the scheme has emerged as a lifeline for educated unemployed youth seeking financial independence.
With continuous support from Jammu & Kashmir Bank and RSETI Rajouri, the programme is expected to further strengthen the local entrepreneurial ecosystem and contribute to economic growth in the region.
