Ganderbal I March 23, 2025 – As the registration of beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana 2.0 nears its final phase, the Rural Development Department and Panchayati Raj organised a day-long district-level workshop and orientation program on PMAY-Gramin 2.0 in Ganderbal. The event, held yesterday, saw significant participation from district officials and beneficiaries, reflecting the scheme’s growing popularity in Kashmir.
The workshop aimed to orient stakeholders on the implementation of PMAY-G 2.0, a flagship housing initiative by the Government of India designed to provide affordable housing to rural populations. Attendees included local administrators, RDDPR officials, and numerous beneficiaries who expressed enthusiasm for the program’s impact on their lives.
Beneficiaries at the event praised the efforts of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha for driving the scheme’s success in the region. “PMAY has been a game-changer for us. We are grateful to PM Narendra Modi and LG Manoj Sinha for making this possible,” said a beneficiary from Ganderbal, echoing the sentiments of many present.
Launched as part of the broader PMAY framework, the scheme continues to gain traction in Kashmir, with officials noting a strong response from rural communities. The Ganderbal workshop marks a key step in ensuring the smooth rollout of the final registration phase, reinforcing PMAY’s role in transforming housing accessibility across the Union Territory.
