Kashmir, July 3,2026- Prime Minister Narendra Modi has appealed to devotees undertaking the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2026 to adopt five meaningful pledges aimed at promoting cleanliness, environmental conservation, support for local livelihoods, and national development during the annual pilgrimage.

In a message addressed to the pilgrims, the Prime Minister described the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra as an enduring symbol of India’s spiritual heritage and cultural unity. He expressed hope that the pilgrimage would be safe, peaceful, and spiritually fulfilling for every devotee.

“The Shri Amarnath Yatra associated with the darshan of Baba Barfani is an eternal chapter of our spiritual tradition and cultural unity. I pray that this sacred pilgrimage remains safe, auspicious, and fulfilling for all devotees,” the Prime Minister said.

Sharing a special letter with devotees, PM Modi urged pilgrims to embrace five key resolutions during the yatra:

  • Buy goods made by Kashmiri brothers and sisters to support local artisans, traders, and livelihoods.
  • Ensure a Swachh Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra by maintaining cleanliness throughout the pilgrimage.
  • Gift a sapling on Raksha Bandhan under the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign to promote environmental conservation.
  • Strictly follow all guidelines and safety advisories issued by the authorities during the yatra.
  • Contribute towards building a Viksit Bharat (Developed India) with the spirit of ‘Nation First.’

The Prime Minister emphasised that every pilgrim has a vital role in preserving the sanctity of the pilgrimage while strengthening social harmony, environmental responsibility, and the local economy. He encouraged devotees to make the yatra not only a spiritual journey but also an opportunity to contribute positively to society.

The Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2026, which commenced on July 3, is witnessing thousands of pilgrims travelling to the Holy Cave Shrine through the twin routes of Pahalgam and Baltal under elaborate security and logistical arrangements made by the administration.
