Udhampur, November 22,2025 – In a significant step towards women’s empowerment and rural entrepreneurship, the State Bank of India Rural Self Employment Training Institute (SBI-RSETI), Udhampur, has launched a 20-day training programme for rural women in papad, pickle, and masala making. The programme is being conducted at the BDO Office in Ghordi, Udhampur.
Over 35 women from nearby villages are participating in this free skill development initiative, which aims to equip rural women with food processing skills and enable them to start their own small-scale enterprises. The training covers production techniques, hygiene standards, and packaging, helping participants gain practical knowledge to venture into self-employment and entrepreneurship.
Upon successful completion, participants will receive certificates recognizing their newly acquired skills, boosting their employment opportunities and contributing to the economic growth of rural areas in Udhampur.
This initiative underscores the role of SBI-RSETI in promoting skill development, women empowerment, and rural entrepreneurship in Jammu & Kashmir, aligning with broader goals of inclusive economic development.
