PM Modi Congratulates Kashmir’s Mohsin Ali on First Gold in Khelo India Water Sports The Government of India organised for the first time in Kashmir Khelo India Water Sports. I won the first historic Gold medal, says Mohsin Khan of J&K. This water sports event unmasked a lot of talent, said Bilkis Mir, Water Sports Game Coach. She congratulated Mohsin Ali of Jammu & Kashmir who won Gold medal for 1000 metre race. This water sports player has shown that where there is a will, there is a way. The Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi congratulated Mohsin Ali on the phone and wished him well for his bright future. Mohsin was ecstatic and said he was very happy and congratulations poured on him, his coach and to his family members. It was a happy moment. This day is very important in my life, Mohsin added. Fida Hussain Kand, father of Mohsin Ali said, he was grateful that the PM talked to his son and that Mohsin was able to achieve this medal. Danish Ali, brother of Mohsin Ali said he could not believe in the morning that the PM talked with his brother. The coach Bilkis Mir said, the dream of all of us players has come true as Mohsin Ali talked to Prime Minister. That boosted our morale even more. And now there is only one goal that our Jammu and Kashmir has to take India to that podium of Olympics. The son of a laborer in my country is dreaming so big, which means this country is going to progress a lot, said the Prime Minister. He asked Mohsin to congratulate his father who made his life even after living a life of labour. Mohsin’s father recalled how as a four year old Mohsin used to row the boat. As a coach what could be a bigger encouragement than appreciation coming directly from the Prime Minister, Bilkis Mir said.
