Rajouri, Jammu & Kashmir, November 19, 2025 – Prime Minister Narendra Modi today released the 21st instalment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme, transferring ₹18,000 crore directly into the bank accounts of nearly 9 crore farmers across India. The instalment was launched during the South India Natural Farming Summit in Coimbatore, reaffirming the government’s commitment to strengthening small and marginal farmers through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) mechanism.
Since its inception on February 24, 2019, PM-KISAN has provided annual income support of ₹6,000, delivered in three instalments of ₹2,000 each. With this release, total disbursements have crossed ₹3.70 lakh crore, benefiting more than 11 crore farmer families nationwide. Farmers with Aadhaar-linked bank accounts, updated land records, and completed e-KYC continue to receive seamless support under the scheme.
In Jammu & Kashmir, the Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Rajouri became a focal point of celebration, hosting a live telecast of the national event. Farmers from across the district gathered to witness the moment, with many expressing gratitude for the timely financial assistance. “This will help us buy seeds and support our farming,” a local farmer said, reflecting the immediate relief the instalment brings ahead of the sowing season.
A total of 43,839 registered farmers in Rajouri will receive ₹8.76 crore under this instalment, offering a crucial boost to agriculture in the region’s challenging hilly terrain. The gathering at KVK Rajouri also included awareness sessions on modern farming practices, echoing the Prime Minister’s emphasis on natural farming and sustainable cultivation methods.
Nationally, the instalment arrives at a pivotal time as farmers face fluctuating input costs and unpredictable weather patterns. States like Rajasthan will see over 66.62 lakh beneficiaries receiving ₹1,332 crore, complementing local initiatives such as the Mukhyamantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana. The scheme continues to evolve with technological additions like the AI-powered Kisan-eMitra chatbot and doorstep banking through India Post Payments Bank, enhancing accessibility for rural communities.
Farmers can check their beneficiary status on the official PM-KISAN portal by selecting “Know Your Status” and entering their Aadhaar or registration details. For mandatory e-KYC, they can use OTP-based verification online or complete biometric authentication at nearby Common Service Centres.
Reinforcing the #FarmersFirst vision, the latest instalment underscores the role of @pmkisanofficial, @KvkRajouri, and local agencies in driving awareness and ensuring smooth implementation. As India advances toward agricultural innovation and a Viksit Bharat, PM-KISAN remains a cornerstone of rural empowerment.
