REASI, JULY 07: As part of Van Mahotsav week, the NSS unit of Government Degree College Katra, in collaboration with the Red Ribbon Club of the college, conducted a plantation drive in the College campus.
The drive, conducted under the theme “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” is part of a campaign initiated by the Prime Minister of India. The program was organized under the able guidance of the Principal, Dr. Rajni Bhagat, and the overall supervision of Dr. Manisha Kumari, NSS Program Officer. A good number of students participated in the drive, contributing to its success.
Several saplings were planted in the College ground during this drive. While addressing the gathering, Principal Dr. Rajni Bhagat emphasized that afforestation is the need of the hour as we are facing a serious threat of global warming. She further stated that due to global warming, the earth’s temperature has broken all previous heat records during the summer season. She urged everyone to plant a tree because trees are one of the most effective ways to limit global warming.
