Srinagar, July 16, 2025: The Press Information Bureau (PIB), Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Government of India, Regional Office Srinagar, organized a media workshop titled ‘VARTA’ on Wednesday at the Directorate of Information & Public Relations (DIPR), Srinagar. The event aimed to foster stronger ties between media and government institutions, promoting collaborative communication, transparency, and effective information dissemination for a more responsive public communication ecosystem.
The VARTA workshop brought together journalists, media professionals, and government representatives to discuss strategies for bridging the gap between public communication channels and the media. The event emphasized the role of responsible journalism in ensuring accurate dissemination of government policies and programs. A key highlight was an overview of Ayushman Bharat, India’s flagship healthcare scheme, detailing its progress in providing affordable healthcare access in the Jammu & Kashmir region. Additionally, the workshop covered the Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyaan 2025, a national initiative to empower farmers through sustainable agricultural practices and technological advancements.
Speakers underscored the importance of media as a vital link in conveying government initiatives to the public, ensuring accountability and public trust. Interactive sessions allowed participants to share insights on challenges in media-government collaboration and explore solutions for a more cohesive information environment.
“The ‘VARTA’ workshop is a significant step toward building a robust partnership between the media and government, ensuring that accurate and timely information reaches every citizen,” said a PIB official. The event aligns with PIB’s ongoing efforts to strengthen media ties and promote a transparent communication framework in the region.
