Children, youth and elders participated in the programme. Compared to the 2020 Pedal for Peace event in which around 516 people participated in various categories, this year, more than 2,500 cyclists have participated in all eight categories. The participants included Asian Games probables, international players from Manipur, Himachal Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Ladakh, besides J &K’s national and international cyclists. In this way, enthusiasm with the single goal of all of you having given a commitment to move forward is attaining peace and prosperity for J&K and the nation. The youngest participant was a three-year-old and the oldest was 62-year-old. Youth is the biggest capital of Jammu and Kashmir, LG said. These youths are becoming an example for the whole country. The whole country is proud of them today. Whether sports, education, business, technology, in every area, J&K youths are being discussed, LG said. Today, I would like to say that apart from boys, our daughters have proved their mettle in all fields. More than 63% of gold medallists are our daughters in J&K. Zubya Tariq, another female cyclist, said this sporting event keeps people away from drugs and other bad habits. The youngest participant, 3-year-old Ayub Khan, said he liked cycling.
