Over 6,200 devotees embark on Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra from Jammu in 14th Batch

Jammu , July 15,2026- A fresh batch of more than 6,200 pilgrims departed from the Bhagwati Nagar Yatri Niwas in Jammu on Wednesday to undertake the annual Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra, amid elaborate security arrangements and logistical support provided by the administration.

The 14th batch, comprising over 6,200 devotees, left in a convoy of escorted vehicles during the early hours for the twin base camps of Nunwan (Pahalgam) in Anantnag district and Baltal in Ganderbal district.

Officials said the convoy was escorted by security personnel to ensure the safe and smooth movement of pilgrims along the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway. Comprehensive arrangements, including registration, RFID verification, medical assistance, sanitation, food, accommodation, and emergency response services, remain in place to facilitate the pilgrimage.

The departure comes as the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra continues to witness an overwhelming response from devotees across the country. The pilgrimage recently crossed the landmark of over 3 lakh pilgrims visiting the Holy Amarnath Cave Shrine within just 12 days, marking a new record.

Pilgrims have expressed satisfaction with the arrangements made by the Jammu and Kashmir Administration, Shri Amarnath Ji Shrine Board (SASB), security forces, healthcare workers, volunteers, and service providers, who continue to work round the clock to ensure a safe, secure, and comfortable pilgrimage experience.

The annual pilgrimage to the sacred cave shrine of Baba Barfani is progressing peacefully, with authorities maintaining strict security measures and seamless coordination to manage the steady influx of devotees.
