Srinagar, May 23, 2025: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah chaired a high-level meeting to review the functioning of the Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB), emphasizing the need for transparent, timely, and efficient recruitment processes across all departments. The meeting, held in Srinagar, focused on eliminating procedural delays and ensuring merit-based selections to bolster public confidence in the recruitment system.
The Chief Minister urged JKSSB officials to address bottlenecks that hinder the recruitment process, stressing the government’s commitment to streamlining operations. Chairperson JKSSB, Indu Kanwal Chib, presented a detailed report on recruitment activities since 2019, highlighting department-wise posts advertised, under examination, and in the final stages of selection. The meeting was attended by key officials, including Advisor to the Chief Minister Nasir Aslam Wani, Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo, and other senior officers.
This review comes amid ongoing efforts to enhance public service delivery in Jammu and Kashmir, particularly following the April 22, 2025, Pahalgam terror attack, which heightened the need for efficient governance. The government’s push for transparency aligns with recent announcements, such as the JKSSB’s recruitment drive for 508 Junior Engineer (Civil) posts, with applications open from May 18 to June 16, 2025.
In a post on X, the Chief Minister’s office stated, “Reviewed the functioning of the JKSSB today and impressed upon the officers to remove bottlenecks and ensure time-bound selections. The Government remains committed to transparent, timely, and efficient recruitment across all departments.”
