Srinagar, October 22,2025: Former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah paid rich tributes to the police martyrs at the Zewan Police Complex on the occasion of Police Commemoration Day, honoring their supreme sacrifice in the line of duty.
Speaking at the solemn ceremony, Omar Abdullah said the J&K Police has always been at the forefront of maintaining peace and ensuring public safety, often at great personal cost. He saluted the courage and dedication of the brave personnel who laid down their lives protecting the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
“Today, we remember with pride and gratitude the heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice in service of the nation. Their valour and commitment will continue to inspire generations,” he said.
Wreaths were laid at the Martyrs’ Memorial by senior police officers and family members of the fallen personnel. The event also included a guard of honour and reading of the Roll of Honour to pay homage to those who lost their lives in the line of duty over the past year.
Police Commemoration Day, observed every year on October 21, marks the bravery of police personnel who have laid down their lives safeguarding peace and unity across the country.
