Srinagar, May 16, 2025 – Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah held a series of meetings with multiple delegations at the Raabita Office in Srinagar today, engaging in open and frank discussions on pressing public matters. The interactions reflect the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference government’s dedication to responsive and inclusive governance, with a focus on addressing citizen’s concerns promptly and effectively.
The Raabita Office, located in the heart of Srinagar, serves as a vital platform for direct public engagement, enabling the Chief Minister to connect with residents and hear their grievances firsthand.
Accompanied by key advisors, Omar Abdullah listened to a range of issues, including local infrastructure needs, access to public services, and broader developmental goals. The delegations, representing diverse sections of society, expressed their expectations for tangible progress under the JKNC-led government, which assumed office following the recent assembly elections.
Today’s meetings build on Omar Abdullah’s ongoing efforts to strengthen governance in J&K. Recently, he reviewed administrative operations at the Civil Secretariat in Srinagar, emphasising that governance must be visible and impactful at the grassroots level. His administration has also rolled out measures like a ₹10 lakh ex-gratia payment for families affected by cross-border violence and a dedicated toll-free helpline (1800-8900-166) to support J&K students facing challenges outside the Union Territory.
Abdullah’s proactive approach comes amid heightened regional challenges, including recent ceasefire violations along the Line of Control. In discussions with national leaders, he has stressed that such incidents should not hinder J&K’s path to development and stability. “Our focus is on delivering for the people who have entrusted us with their mandate,” he reiterated during a recent address.
The Raabita Office meetings underscore the government’s commitment to fostering dialogue and ensuring that public welfare remains at the core of its agenda. As J&K navigates complex socio-political dynamics, Abdullah’s emphasis on sincerity and urgency in governance signals a renewed push for accountability and progress.
