Srinagar, July 7, 2025 – The Directorate of School Education Kashmir (DSEK) has confirmed that there will be no further extension to the summer break, and all government and private schools in the Kashmir Valley will reopen from tomorrow, July 8, as scheduled.
The announcement puts to rest speculation regarding a possible extension due to the recent spell of unpredictable weather and security concerns. Officials stated that school infrastructure has been reviewed, and adequate safety arrangements are in place to ensure smooth functioning of classes across the valley.
The summer vacation, which began on June 25, was part of the annual academic calendar for Kashmir division schools, typically aligned with climatic conditions in the region. The administration emphasized the importance of restoring academic continuity and urged parents to ensure students’ timely attendance.
All District Education Officers (DEOs) have been directed to monitor school reopenings and submit readiness reports. Schools have also been instructed to maintain proper sanitation, transport services, and disciplinary measures to avoid any disruption.
Parents and students are advised to follow regular transport and class schedules, and contact school authorities in case of any logistical concerns.
